DJ Chris is the owner and operator of Sunset Sound Events. Over the past two decades, I’ve DJ’d hundreds of weddings, school dances, corporate parties, and private events, gaining wide-ranging experience in every setting. I’ve learned that the best events aren’t just about playlists — they’re about timing, energy, and the seamless flow between moments. My job isn’t to be the center of attention — it’s to support your moment and make sure everything sounds and feels right. Music has always been a passion for me; I grew up listening to Elvis thanks to his mom, and I spent countless hours with 80s favorites like Def Leppard. How do we book our event date?
To reserve your event date, please take a moment to fill out the form available on our website, which can be found under the "book your date now" section. Once we receive your completed request, we will promptly send you the booking agreement for your careful review. When you feel ready to proceed, a deposit will be required to officially confirm and secure your desired date for the event. Keep in mind that most event DJs tend to book quickly, so if the deposit is not made in a timely manner, you risk missing out on your preferred DJ or event date.
What is the next step after booking?
Once you are officially booked, you will gain access to your personal online planner. At this point, you can begin filling out the necessary questions and details that your DJ will need to ensure a perfect experience on your special day. Approximately one month before your event date, the DJ will review all the information in your planner with you in detail to confirm everything is exactly how you want it.
Can we make a playlist?
Yes! Since everyone has their own unique style, there are typically specific types of music suited for the pre-ceremony, cocktail hour, and dinner. The best way to create a personalized playlist is by using Spotify. Your DJ will expertly cover the dancing music, but if you would like to put together a dance playlist yourself, you are more than welcome to do so. This way, your celebration will truly reflect your individual tastes and preferences.
Do we have to use the online planner?
Yes! Everything that your DJ will need will be provided on the online planning form. This form will serve as their main guide for the event day, helping to ensure that everything runs smoothly and according to plan. We do not recommend using email, text, or Google Docs for a guide, as the DJ relies strictly on the online planner to stay organized and keep track of all the details.
Do you recommend a day of coordinator?
Yes! We highly recommend having a day-of coordinator to assist with managing the day's timeline and all the important details. This ensures you can fully focus on enjoying your special day without the need to worry about what happens next or any unexpected hiccups. Why add unnecessary stress to your event when a dedicated professional can handle everything seamlessly, allowing you to relax and be present in the moment? When do we need to make the final payment?
We kindly ask that the final payment be made during the week of your event to ensure a smooth and seamless experience.
